Relaxation Training
Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Progressive muscle relaxation involves tensing and then releasing each muscle group in turn, teaching the body the difference between tension and relaxation.
Work through the body in order: hands and forearms, upper arms, shoulders, neck, face, chest, stomach, back, hips, thighs, calves, and feet. Tense each group for about five seconds, then release for about twenty seconds and notice the difference.
